Tim Ripperger, MD, PhD (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6470-8612), is working as a clinician scientist at the Department of Human Genetics, Hannover Medical School, Hannover, Germany. As a fully trained human geneticist, Tim is responsible for the outpatient clinic at the Department and heads the research team applied genetics. Familial leukemia, especially RUNX1-associated familial platelet disorder, is one of his main research foci. In general, Tim is working on the identification of disease-associated genetic variants, their functional characterization, and the subsequent translation of this knowledge in a transdisciplinary clinical concept focusing on the needs of affected individuals and their at risk relatives.
